Diocese of metropolitan Dabrobosanska submitted request to complete this task. Without this task being done it was impossible to reconstruct the church that was damaged during the war. We were very glad to accept this task.

A team from ‘BH Demining”, NGO organization that works in federation area, accompanied a team from “STOP mines”. This was the most important.

We decided to invite them, because this was first time for us to work on federation side. We are glad to say that it was really good decision. First, by doing this we made sure that our people will feel safe there. Second, teams had an opportunity to exchange the experiences. They kept doing this all the time. Third, we established joint work of NGO’s wherever they have interests to do that. That’s how we convinced our donors that such work in BiH is possible.

From technical point of view this task was done very well. Our donors, representatives of US DoS, who visited us on the July 22^nd, 2000 shared the same opinion. They had very high opinion of the way and quality of work.

All three national NGO’s, STOP Mines, BH Demining and ProVita  will participate in demining of  settlement Omerbegovaca. The money for the implementation of the operation has been provided by the donation of Islamic Conference through ITF. By doing this way the donated money was doubled. The task is to demine the settlement  in which the returnees do live between the mines. It was planned to get about 230.000 m² cleaned. According to the available records about 1000 mines had been placed in this area. Flail machines and EDD’s will be used in this operation.
